Two Limassol road tenders target different problems for nearby properties

Two addresses advertised as being near a road improvement can gain quite different things. One might acquire a pavement on the walk home. Another might see a change only at the junction used for the drive to work.

On 2 November, Cyprus Mail reported two transport ministry tenders. The estimated €184,150 Ayia Fyla project would connect Idomeneos Street with 1st April Avenue and Sfaktiria Street, with pavements and rainwater drainage. The estimated €163,591 project in Parekklisia would widen the junction of Gregoris Afxentiou Avenue with the road to Pyrgos. Both estimates exclude VAT.

Read the construction dates as targets

Bids are due on 18 November. The reported target is a start in the first quarter of 2027 and three months of works for each project. A tender timetable does not tell a resident which week a driveway might be affected. Ask for the awarded works schedule and any access notice when they become available.

Try the journey that matters to you

Walk from the front door to the nearest usable pavement. For a shop, follow the delivery route to the unloading point, including the turn back out. This will show whether the proposed work is on the route you actually use. Neither tender measures changes in congestion, property prices or rents.
